The Vision : The boiler installation contract was won following a commercial tender to retrofit a 150kW woodchip boiler in to an existing boiler house built around a 400kW gas boiler but with limited additional space for biomass
Making it Happen : The client was persuaded to move away from their preference for a blown woodchip delivery system, and an underground secondary fuel store was specially designed to enable a standard tipper lorry to deliver loose woodchips. Two transport augers then transfer the fuel in to an internal chipstore from where the agitator fuels the boiler. Reith Partners acted as Main Contractor and delivered the contract on time and on budget
